U9 AND BELOW INFORMATION The competition committee of the executive met to determine our team splits and below.
U9: We have entered a U9 MD team this year. This means that we will have a U9 MD team and a U9 Local League team. The first evaluation for this division will be on Sunday, October 1. Please check the website to confirm times. Any U9 player that does not make the team will be placed on the U9 Local League team. Any U8 player that would like to try out for the U9 MD team must attend all evaluations. For a player to be moved up from U8, they must be considered top 3 in the division for which they are trying out. This is the rule for all divisions in our organization. U8: With the current registrations we will have one U8 team, that will split into two groups for game purposes. If the numbers change, we will make decisions based on those changes. We are also looking for coaches in this division. We will also determine if there is enough talent and interest in creating a select team in this division to enter tournaments. Any player interested in trying out for the U9 MD team must attend the U9 evaluations, as indicated on our website. A U8 player must evaluate in the top three in the U9 division to be selected. This is consistent with the South Grey Minor Hockey Rules of Operation for player movement. Any individual interested in coaching at the U8 division, please contact Mike Broderick at

U7: There is a tremendous amount of excitement with this group as it is our largest age group in the organization. We will be splitting the group into two different practice groups, each practice group will be split into two teams (total of four teams for game purposes). We will also create a select team from this group that will be allocated an additional practice slot each week. The select team will be eligible to have exhibition games and enter tournaments at the U7 select level. With this exciting opportunity we are confident that this is the best development opportunity for our players, hence there will be no player movement from U7 to U8 this season.
